Magnetic chamfer strips for precast production

For clean chamfers and joints

Magnetic chamfer strips

Our magnetic triangular strips are used for the quick and clean creation of chamfers, water noses or dummy joints in precast concrete production.

We offer you the triangular strips in different materials:

  1.     Rubber (with steel core)
  2.     Steel
  3.     Solid rubber

Your advantages with triangular magnetic strips from RATEC:

  •     Reusability
  •     High and reliable adhesive force
  •     Environmentally friendly (replaces polystyrene and plastic mouldings)
  •     Time-saving

FAQ: What does 50% or 100% magnetised mean?

With the 100% magnetised chamfer strip, the strip is completely filled with magnets. With the 50% magnetised chamfer strip, only every other magnet is used, with the gaps between the magnets being filled with synthetic resin. Please contact us if you are not sure which variant is right for you. Our experienced consultants will be happy to help you.

FAQ: Differences between rubber and steel chamfer strips

Today there are not many significant differences between the two materials. Steel used to be the material for shorter strips and rubber for longer strips, but today both materials can be offered in many variants and lengths. The most significant difference is the weight, with steel chamfers weighing more than rubber chamfers.

As magnetic strips are often put in place using hammers, it is crucial to pay attention to using rubber hammers in any case. Rubber usually better absorbs external influences, e.g. hammer strokes etc. Using non-rubber hammer can damage steel faster. Therefore, a rubber hammer is obligatory for handling steel chamfer strips in general.

With the right treatment, including oiling and right storage steel is the more resilient material and lasts longer, while rubber wears out quicker over time. In general, good treatment and maintenance will ensure a long lifespan of magnetic chamfer strips, no matter the material.
