About RATEC America
- RATEC America is part of the internationally operating Reymann Group and is a recognized leader in the precast and prestressed concrete industry. With offices and manufacturing operations in both Germany and Florida, RATEC combines German engineering expertise with a strong local presence and direct support across North America.
- For more than 25 years, RATEC has supplied magnetic formwork systems, casting tables, and engineered production equipment to precast producers worldwide. RATEC America supports customers throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, delivering practical, high-quality solutions backed by international experience and technical collaboration.
Position Overview
- RATEC America is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow our West Coast territory.
- This is a highly field-driven role for someone who understands precast production and thrives in plant environments. The position requires regular travel, direct customer interaction, and the ability to operate independently — scheduling plant visits, managing relationships, and developing opportunities across a large geographic territory with minimal oversight.
- We are especially interested in candidates with hands-on precast experience — including plant managers, assistant plant managers, production supervisors, or senior plant personnel — who are looking to transition into a customer-facing role.
- Previous formal sales experience is helpful but not required. Strong industry knowledge, communication skills, and credibility in a plant environment are more important than a traditional sales background.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel throughout the West Coast to proactively schedule and conduct plant visits
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with plant managers, engineers, ownership, and executive leadership
- Conduct plant walkthroughs to identify production challenges and growth opportunities
- Collaborate closely with RATEC’s engineering team to develop appropriate equipment and system solutions
- Coordinate internally to ensure accurate quotations are prepared and delivered
- Present and discuss quotations directly with customers, guiding technical and commercial conversations through order placement
- Represent RATEC at trade shows, regional events, and industry meetings
- Manage the assigned territory independently, maintaining organized planning, reporting, and communication with internal teams
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in the precast concrete industry strongly preferred
- Background in plant operations, production management, or supervisory roles highly valued
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately two weeks per month (or as required by territory needs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly
- Comfortable interacting with production crews, engineers, ownership, and executive leadership
- Self-motivated and capable of managing a large geographic territory independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) is required
- Spanish fluency or strong conversational ability is a significant advantage
What we offer
Competitive base salary
401(k) plan with company matching
Travel expenses covered
Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (depending on arrangement)
Generous Paid Time Off and paid holidays
Direct collaboration with engineering and company leadership
Opportunity to contribute to product development through real-world field input
Why This Role Is Different
This is not a high-pressure, transactional sales position.
It is a long-term, relationship-driven role built on industry knowledge, credibility, and practical problem solving. We are seeking someone motivated to build a sustained career within the precast industry and grow with the company over time.
If you have built a strong foundation in precast and are ready to apply that experience in a field-based role with long-term growth potential, this position offers a meaningful next step.
