How can precasters combine safe operation, flexible production and efficient use of space? A recent project in Florida offers one practical answer.
RATEC America installed a battery system developed and manufactured in the United States for a precaster producing privacy walls. The system consists of two twin-pocket battery moulds, each featuring a casting area of 19’5”, approximately 6 metres, in length and 10', around 3 metres, in height.
A catwalk positioned between the two mould pockets provides easy and safe access during operation. This setup supports smooth workflows while helping operators work confidently around the moulds.
The clamping process is carried out manually, and each pocket can be tensioned independently. This gives the precaster the flexibility to adapt production to different requirements and quantities without limiting both pockets to the same production cycle.
Projects like this show how thoughtful equipment design can support practical, adaptable precast production.
