Multi-storey residential buildings (Worker's Accommodation) built in modular construction method
Project description
The 3D mould kit was installed for the production of the room modules for the building of multi-storey workers' accommodations in Singapore. A particular challenge here was the complex element details and connecting reinforcement, which are a necessity according to the construction standards for PPVC (Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction) applicable in Singapore.
A total of four of the new room module moulds were installed, in which 22 different types of room elements and sanitary cells were produced for the construction of the 8-storey building.
The modular principle of the mould ensures maximum flexibility. Even complex details can be realised with ease. And it is conventionally filled from the top. This means that the modular formwork can be easily integrated into existing production lines. The special feature of the 3D mould kit is the patented shrinking mechanism, in which the module is lifted and the inner core is shrunk at the same time. Secondly, the mould has a modular design. The core and outer panels consist of various standardised parts that can be converted as required, thus enabling different room dimensions. This means that the formwork can be used efficiently even if with smaller series of elements to produce.
