RATEC battery system

The pocket battery molds from RATEC incorporate all the creativity and engineering know-how of more than 40 years of experience in the development and rationalisation of precast concrete plants. Together with the proven upcrete® technology, our pocket battery molds prove their high quality and cost-effectiveness day in and day out on three continents. The end product is characterised by smooth surface concrete on all sides as well as by the smallest geometric tolerances. The battery molds also impress with their ease-of-use and sturdiness.

Project USA

NOISE BARRIERS IN ALL-ROUND HIGH SURFACE QUALITY

Due to contouring of the elements and matrices partially on both sides, the customer decided in favour of the RATEC battery systems.


Project Scope
A total of three battery moulds were installed:

- Type A: 1 x 10 pockets, size 19.68 x 5.9 ft
- Type A: 1 x 5 pockets, size 19.68 x 7.87 ft
- Type B: 1 x 10 pockets, size 19.68 x 11.81 ft


Additional information

- All battery systems are designed as twin systems and can be supplemented with additional pockets.

- An upcrete® pump station UPP 100 is used for filling.

- The production capacity of the plant is 3230 ft2 or 492 running wall feet per day in single-shift operation.

Project Italy

ITALY'S PAVILION AT EXPO 2015 IN MILAN

A majority of the facade elements were manufactured in a RATEC battery mold using the upcrete® process. Filling from top was not logical due to the element geometry.

- over 950000 ft² facade
- 2200 t cement made from 80% recycled material
- Battery mold with 6 pockets of 19.68 x 13.12 ft each
- UPP 100 pump station
- UCI filling connections

 

Unique challenges
- Very complex elements, each with an in individual design
- Reliable shaping of filigree "branches"
